The 4th Annual Escape from Spike swim will happen on the 8th of August at 3.15pm. This is a one mile (distance varies due to tides and currents) open water swim from Spike Island in Cork harbour to Cobh, Co. Cork.
Entry is limited to 35 entrants due to the volume of safety cover required. Please e-mail me for further details or if you wish to be added to the e-mail list for future Spike swims. Entry is set at 17.50 euro.
You should have swam in the Open water environment this year and be capable of swimming the distance before you enter. This is a Swim Ireland insured event and falls under the Open water swim committee. Please see Swim Ireland site for the calendar of events around the country.
Swimmers will register before the swim and be ‘shipped’ out to the Prision island. The Prisoners will then ‘escape’ by swimming to land.
