On foot of complaints received from members of the public, Cobh Town Council carried out an inspection of the cliff face immediately to the East of Bishop Roche Park (Cove Fort). On foot of that inspection, Cobh Town Council is satisfied that a public safety issue arises at this location. On Thursday 11 July, the gateway leading to this area was closed on the instructions of the Council.
The matter has been referred to the Consulting Engineers engaged by Cobh Town Council in relation to the Cobh Landslide Programme and the matter will be further considered on receipt of their report.
Páraig Lynch,
Town Clerk,
Cobh Town Council
