Help Buzzy Bee find his way home on the August Bank Holiday weekend with this fun trail for all the family at Fota.
Explore our lovely wild meadow, the tall trees in the Arboretum and our magical walled gardens. Learn about Ireland’s pollinators and all the hard work they do to make delicious honey and help our crops grow.
On this self-guided Trail, you will discover all things growing and glorious in the gardens!
“This year we are focusing on all things nature at Fota,” says Victoria Tammadge, Fota House’s General Manager. “We have let the wild grasses and flowers grow to help our buzzy friends and we’d love everyone to Bee Friends with Fota!”
Once the girls and boys have helped Buzzy find his way home, join us back at the House to pick up their special Bee Friends with Fota certificate.
So, why not make a day of it and enjoy the Fota experience with a picnic or some delicious food at the Bakestone Café?!
The trail runs Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th & Monday 5th from 11am to 4pm daily. Tickets are €5 per child and adults go FREE! Just walk in to our welcome desk to get your trail map & pencil.
By enjoying our trail, visitors are contributing to the ongoing restoration and conservation of Fota House, Arboretum & Gardens which is owned and managed by the Irish Heritage Trust charity.
The Arboretum and formal gardens are cared for by our friends in the OPW.
