Breaking The Silence Headshave, Waxing & Piercing Event

Breaking The Silence ran their very first Headshave, Waxing and Piercing Event on Sat 30^th July at The Rob Roy Bar, Cobh, Co. Cork.  The event was in conjunction with Rob O’Brien’s recent Ultramarathon in China on behalf of Breaking The Silence.  Great fun was had by all when a group of volunteers had their heads shaved by Paul from Bazzers, Washington Street Cork who also performed body piercing on some of the volunteers! Local beautician Jane Jackson was on hand to do the waxing which all created a fantastic atmosphere to raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.  DJ Flea (Dwane Breen) kindly played on the night free of charge and many raffle prizes were on offer thanks to the generosity of a number of sponsors including The Gibson Hotel Dublin, Cork International Airport Hotel, Cork City Football Club and Cork Senior GAA Football Team. Cork Red FM’s Red Patrollers also were in attendance following the group’s recent participation in the station’s ‘Mind Your Mates’ Campaign.

Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary Group that helps to create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources.  The Group will run their next free SAFE TALK in Cobh on 25^th August and for details please email breakingthesilencecobh@gmail.com.
