Carrignafoy Community College would like to congratulate all the students who received awards at the Student Award Ceremony 2012 in The Commodore Hotel on Thursday 17th May. The guest speaker was Sergeant Trevor Laffan who is Garda Sergeant with responsibility for Community Policing in the Cork City Division. He gave an interesting speech on youth and the importance of promoting good values and self esteem.
Niamh Halligan played 2 instrumental pieces on the harp. Janet Forrest read from her winning essay on the theme of the Titanic. The award ceremony includes Second Level students and Post Leaving Certificate day students who received FETAC level 5 awards in Childcare, Business, Art and Tourism.
Congratulations to Aoife Braund, Janet Forrest, Niamh Halligan and Jessica Sweeney on receiving Gaisce the President Awards, to Janet Forrest who received the English Award, to Michaela Cmarkova for Maths and Niamh Halligan who received the Riobarid O Conaill Perpetual Trophy for Irish.
Congratulations to Anna Keating on receiving the Community Award, pictured receiving the Award from Tina Sheehan, BOI Cobh.
Congratulations to Carrie Doyle on receiving Student of the Year Award, pictured with her family.
