Civic Reception For Cobh Tidy Towns

On Friday evening Tidy Towns volunteers who have worked over the years to make Cobh a nicer place to live in,visit and work in were invited to a Civic Reception in the Council Chamber to commemorate the success in achieving a Bronze Medal in the National Tidy Towns 2011.Many thanks to Cobh Town Council and Mayor Jim Quinlan for a wonderful reception and our lovely framed certificate.Mayor Quinlan spoke of the palpable pride in Cobh and about how the hard work of all the volunteers had contributed to Cobh standing proudly as a Bronze Medal Winner in the competition.
The Chairman of Cobh Tidy Towns,Hendrick Verwey thanked Cobh Town Council for it’s support in 2011 and along with Mayor Quinlan called on business owners and homeowners to play a part in supporting Cobh reach for a silver medal now that we’ve had a taste of success!
