With a new broad committee now in place, and made up of committed volunteer activists, the campaign to move the project along has advanced steadily in the last number of weeks.
A number of sub-committees have been established to make progress in specific areas, in order to fast-forward the planning/development process and hopefully to construction of phase one of the project in a number of months.
The Committee would welcome any assistance from the public which might help us move the project along. We would particularly appreciate any offers of help in terms fundraising /ideas, the provision of excavation machinery, construction materials, fencing& posts and sheds, and of course physical labour. If there are other areas which you feel you could assist the project with, don’t be shy in contacting us.
The Committee is still compiling a list of applicants for allotments in advance of construction. This applies to individual applications aswell as to group applications. If you would like to apply to place you name on the application register, or to offer help in any way, you should contact our Secretary Jason Rowe, at 0863746613 or email jasonrowe1@hotmail.com End.
The ‘Cobh Community Allotments Project’ is an idea by the community for the community
