Cobh Pirates Notes: 1st May
HUGE well done to the J2s today, on beating Shannon RFC, to secure a spot in the final of the Munster Junior 2 league against Richmond this Saturday 8th May in Limerick. (venue and time tbc)
On a scoreline of 28-10, Cobh done very well to contain and compete with the Shannon experienced pack of forwards. This was complemented by a marvellous display of attacking rugby from the Cobh backline which kept the Shannon side under constent pressure. James Murphy caused all kinds of problems to their defence and got himself on the score sheet with a fine try, Alan Lanford and a late try from dean McKweon were also among those to touch down. Cono O Regan also commanded his backline well and had a fine day with the boot. They a play the final of the Kelly cup this wednesday evening in Musgrave Park against the winners Dunmanway and Old Christians.
