Another glorious Saturday in July  for working around Cobh! Tom and Ray headed out to strim and cut grass along the road outside Cobh Golf Club.John Barry had been out earlier in the week with a tractor mower to make the job easier for the lads.We are hoping that the golf club will continue to maintain this approach to their amenity.3 volunteers continued the painting of the Cathedral railings.9 volunteers sanded and painted more of the railings at the Grotto at Joe Reid Place. Thanks to Aaron Cronin for cutting the grass at the grotto.

The Burma steps were cleaned of rubbish and cans on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The approach roads to Cobh were cleaned each morning by volunteers.Thank you to everyone. We are delighted to see the Tidy Towns signs at Ticknock and Rushbrooke showing our Bronze Medal success in 2011.Here’s hoping for further success in 2012! A reminder to people to please bin your cigarette butts and to businesses to sweep up butts outside your door to help us keep Cobh clean. Meet with us on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm or Saturday mornings at 10am by the playground on the Five Foot Way.
