In just two and a half hours this sunny but cold Saturday, eight Tidy Towns volunteers made a significant improvement to two areas of the town. Five volunteers painted a large section of the seaside wall in Whitepoint white. This is the first in a series of steps to improve this very scenic amenity area.
Three volunteers equiped with hedgecutters and brushcutters completely removed the briars along the seafront between the Rushbrooke Hotel and the Cross River Ferry. This is also phase one of the plans to create another welcoming approach to Cobh to rival the Cow Cross and Ticknock Hill.
If this can be achieved by eight volunteers and €30 worth of materials just imagine what eighty volunteers could accomplish over a number of week!.
If you want to help to make Cobh a nicer place to visit, live in and work in give Ursula Duffy a call on 085 1668271. The Tidy Towns volunteers meet every Saturday at 10 am sharp at the playground on the Five Foot Way.
