Well done to all those who have been training hard throughout the summer. We are very proud of Ross Guernon, Michael Fogarty and Robbie Allen, who represented Cobh Triathlon Club in the Escape from Spike swim last week, coming in with some great times! Well done also to Jim O’Connell and Daithí O Reilly who have taken part in the King of the Hill Triathlon in Kinsale, and Rob Doherty who did the Tri Kingdom Come Triathlon last Saturday. We would also like to wish members Emma Hegarty-Kelleher, who is competing in the Worlds End Triathlon in Limerick, and Chris Coady who is taking part in an upcoming Ultra Marathon, the very best of luck!

Unfortunately, the Youghal triathlon which the club been aiming for has been cancelled, so we look forward to the Blackwater Triathlon in Fermoy on the 10th September instead. Check out www.blackwatertriathlonclub.com to sign up for this triathlon.

Our recent Tri a Tri training event in Whitepoint was a great success, giving many of our beginner members a “taste of triathlon” and also gave our relay teams a chance to train together. Following this, we will hold another Tri a Tri training event, with refreshments afterwards, at Cuskinny on Sunday 21st August. Plesse be in the water, ready to start the race, at 9.30am. Route distances to be confirmed, so please keep an eye on our website www.cobhtri.com, and also the Cobh Triathlon Club facebook page for more info and updates. This will be great preparation for the triathlon in Fermoy.

Please note a change to our training schedule: With the darker winter evenings on their way, we have changed cycle times to 7.15pm on Wednesdays. From the 17th August this will be moved back further to 6.30pm on Wednesday’s.
