A special premiere of a new Television drama series commemorating the sinking of the Titanic was shown to over 200 invited guests at the Commodore Hotel last Saturday evening.  The airing rights of the first two episodes were secured by the organisers of Titanic 100 Cobh 2012. The drama series was written by Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning scriptwriter behind Downton Abbey.  Each of the programmes will take on a different point of view from various passengers on the ship, starting with an aristocratic family, then a middle class family, moving down to the lower class and the workers in the boiling room.

Marc Anderson, Project Director of Titanic 100 Cobh 2012 commented that the Commodore Hotel was the perfect location for the premiere as it was the very building used for passengers coming to and from the Titanic 100 years ago.  Outside the Hotel a number of vintage cars from Cobh Classic Car Club were parked up helping create an authentic atmosphere for the occassion.
