The Commander George Crosbie Branch of the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel ( O.N.E. ) on the occasion of the Branch Christmas Social at the N.C.Os’ Mess, Naval Base, Haulbowline on Friday November 21st. Made a presentation to a former Naval Service shipmate who recently retired from the Organisation’s National Board of Directors. In recognition of his service to the O.N.E., his assistance to the Commander George Crosbie Naval Branch, and his commitment to the office of P.R.O. for the Southern Area Council of O.N.E. Domhnall Mac Cárthaigh of the Cobh Branch was presented with a beautifully framed Naval Branch crest with a suitable inscription. Domhnall’s Wife Mary was presented with an exquisite bouquet of flowers. The presentations were made by Branch President, Derek Dawson.
There was a tremendous number of retired and serving Naval and Army personnel present at the Christmas Social together with many former residents of the Naval Base Married Quarters. Pleasant music and delicious seasonal fare was provided for the occasion and the proverbial craic was mighty.
