Haulbowline Theatre Group – “Run For Your Wife”

Pat Mahony has assembled his cast, the set is under construction and rehearsals are well under way for Haulbowline Theatre Groups next production “Run For Your Wife” by Ray Cooney. A true farce in every sense of the word.

“John Smith is just your ordinary, everyday taxi driver, that is if your definition of ordinary and everyday includes having two wives and two homes that are just a four minute drive from each other. John is able to keep one a secret from the other because he sticks to a very strict schedule, a schedule he has perfected over many months but John’s schedule is thrown into turmoil when he intervenes in a mugging. Ending up in hospital and having the police investigate the mugging adds to the turmoil, what ensues is a hilarious series of events as John, (with the assistance of his layabout neighbour Stanley) tries to put his schedule back on track and prevent his two lives from colliding.”

As with all HTG Productions, opening night is given over to a charity or volunteer organisation within the surrounding area of Haulbowline Island. This productions opening night of the 13th October 2011 will be performed for “Cobh Tidy Towns” who do fantastic work in Cobh and its environs.
