Irish Distillers, makers of some of the world’s most enjoyed whiskeys and one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of spirits and wines, is looking for graduates to apply for the Irish Distillers Graduate Programme, with opportunities for both engineering and supply chain graduates in Cork and Dublin. The programme, which is now open for applications, offers graduates the opportunity to build their career with the world’s leading producer of Irish whiskeys, including Jameson, Powers, Midleton Very Rare, the Spot Family, Redbreast and Method and Madness.
As part of the two-year engineering programme, graduates will work alongside a world-class whiskey production team with state-of-the-art technology at Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork. Graduates on the supply chain programme will work with the talented team of supply chain experts at the Irish Distillers’ bottling operations plant in Dublin, where the world’s best-selling Irish whiskeys are blended and bottled before being exported around the globe. The Irish Distillers Graduate Programme is a challenging but rewarding programme, offering real responsibilities, structured learning, defined rotations and project work.
Mairead Griffin, Head of Talent Acquisition at Irish Distillers said: “At Irish Distillers, mentorship and development are central to our approach to early careers. Through our early career programmes, we leverage the unique and deep experience from within the business to grow and nurture the next generation of talent. Our engineers play a key role in the production processes, while our supply chain team is the linchpin of our business. Therefore, ensuring that we have a pipeline of talent is critical to our success, both now and in the future.”
“Our Cork based engineering graduates will work across key areas of the Midleton distillery, including the micro distillery, our experimental hub. Graduates will build their technical expertise with both theoretical and practical training in a supportive and structured learning environment. They will work with innovative processes and state-of-the-art technology, while also drawing on the traditions of Irish whiskey production.”
“Our brand-new Dublin based supply chain graduate programme will offer graduates the opportunity to learn about how we manage the flow of our goods from raw materials to finished product. Graduates will help to build out our supply chain processes, drive continuous improvement, and help leverage technology to deliver best in class results. Successful supply chain management requires speed, technology, agility and a sustainable approach. From supply planning, demand planning and transformation projects, there has never been a more exciting time to join Irish Distillers.”
“We already have a team of talented engineers and supply chain leaders within the business who have risen up through the ranks. Our production and supply chain leadership teams are ready to support and guide our new graduates. We are looking for ambitious self-starters, who view a challenge as an opportunity. Successful candidates will have the desire to turn their job into a passion,” she concluded.
The programme offers a structured learning programme that provides professional, technical and personal skills development through onboarding, rotations, a mentoring and buddy framework and project work. The programme is initially seeking Level 8 and 9 graduates from process and chemical engineering, chemical and biopharmaceutical engineering and chemical engineering and Level 8 and 9 graduates from logistics or supply chain management.
Applications for the next intake are now open and close on 29 October 2021, with placements beginning on 1 September 2022.
