Cobh native Karen Conway has recently joined the Irish Ambulance Training Institute (IATI) as Lead Instructor for the Southern Region. The IATI now have Cork based Instructors on their team which means
that the people of Cork have the best in class First Aid Training available by highly qualified instructors at discounted rates and with payment plan options in place for longer term programmes. Karen is qualified to EMT level, has served as volunteer with the Irish Red Cross for many years and is a key member of Breaking The Silence, a Suicide Intervention and Prevention Training Group. Karen worked for Pfizer for a number of years and following a successful career with the leading pharmaceutical company she took the very brave step of becoming a full time First Aid Instructor.
When interviewed recently Karen said that First Aid Training has many benefits, top of the list being the preservation of life and promoting patient recovery. Karen also mentioned however it has other benefits such as improving confidence, providing a very employable skill set and looking fantastic on your CV and also improving your prospects within your current organisation.
