Lions Youth Brass Band performance in Cobh

The Lions Youth Brass Band will perform on the bandstand in the Promenade in Cobh on Saturday 2nd August at 3 pm. The band is made up of 40 musicians aged from 10 years up to 19 years and are a community music group based in Cheshire, England. This is a highly accomplished band that are Gold Award Winners National Brass Band of Great Britain 2014, National Music for Youth Quali?ers and National Youth Championship Winners.
All of the musicians are participants of the Lions Music Education Programme which provides instrumental tuition in cornet, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone, tuba and percussion. They are a highly regarded performance group funded by several Lions Clubs in the Cheshire area and hospitality for the band in Cobh will be provided by Cobh Lions Club.
This Cobh performance is part of the band’s tour of Ireland from Wednesday 30th July until Tuesday 5th August and facilitated by Cobh Tourism.
During their day in Cobh the group will take in local tourist attractions including the Cobh Heritage Centre and Fota Wildlife Park.
