Every year the Sunday World newspaper presents us with their ‘Baby Of The Year’ competition and offer some amazing prizes and this year is no different, with just the one exception being that this year COBH has it’s own entrant. Fifteen month old Katelynn Higgins (pictured) is in the running to pick up one of the ten prizes on offer. The overall winning child will receive a cool €10,000, with nine runner-up prizes of €1,000 each! Voting lines opened on May 9th and will remain open until midnight on May 27th. Supporting Katelynn by voting is a painless process. Simply txt BABY 1431 to 57000 or telephine 1515606096. Txts cost €1.00
We tried to speak to, and get a statement from Katelynn, (who carries the hope of thousands on her shoulders), this morning but unfortunately her press secretary and Mum, Sandra told us that she was unavailable for comment at this time as she was relaxing by preparing her winners acceptance speech. When we rang back a little later we were greeted with ‘No Comment’ by Katelynn who answered the call. Understandably this story is of interest to the public so Cobh Edition have despatched a reporter and several photographers who have now set up a 24hr camp outside of the Higgins’ house. Police have setup a 200 metre blockade around the house but we want the story and are determined that this fifteen month old will not evade us!
Stay tuned for more breaking news……………………..
