A mindless act of vandalism has been committed at Pat O’Brien Park, home of the Springfield and Springfield Ramblers Football Clubs. During the night of Saturday march 3rd a car or some other vehicle was driven across the pitch causing severe damage to the playing surface. This impacts severely on the resources of the club. Because of this act of vandalism the pitch was unavailable for games on the Sunday March 4th. The club is now faced with the cost of repairing the pitch for upcoming fixtures.
For a club run by volunteers this is a terrible setback. The cost of the repairs to the pitch will have to be incurred by the already stretched finances of the club. The club asks that if anyone has any information about this incident that they should contact Cobh Garda Suiochana or the Club Chairman Cathal Rasmussen on 0868878421
