On Saturday morning 9 volunteers met at Garvey´s Supervalu where Fergal Nash and Tom Garvey presented us with some of the 12 bins sponsored by Supervalu valued at over €2500.Thank you to Super Valu. This will allow Cobh Tidy Towns to place bins in the extensive areas of the town that have no bins. We feel that it is appropriate to place bagged dog fouling in the ordinary litter bins. Bella Vista Hotel have also sponsored a Heritage style litter bin valued at more than €300 for the Bishops Road.

Today we also replaced red cigarette butt receptacles in the town centre. Some of these had been attached to poles for years with no base in them. It took a small amount of work by one of our volunteers to make them useable again. The High Road was swept of foliage and 2 volunteers planted a bare corner in Whitepoint introducing some colour for people to enjoy.A large bag of cans, bottles and plastic bags was gathered from The Rock and the Burma Steps this morning.

During the week a grafitti covered wall at the top of the Preacher House steps was painted.Further spraying continued and the Tidy Towns flower boxes were watered for the first time since May! The lower gate of the Cathedral Car Park was painted and grass continued to be cut in the Old Church Cemetery, Belvelley and at the top of Ticknock.Join us on Tuesday at 6.30pm or Saturday at 10am at the Playground by the Five Foot Way.
