Breaking The Silence held their second annual Walk For Life on Saturday 12th May along the exhilarating walking route from Sneem to Kenmare. Walkers were welcomed by the Red Bull Munster Wings Team in addition to receiving sponsorship and support from Pfizer, Butlers Buses and Kenmare Bay Hotel. 3 of the Teenagers who completed the walk were the first to cross the finish line and Terry the Guide on the walk provided support also. Breaking The Silence would like to sincerely thank everybody for helping to make this walk possible and of course all of the walk participants for taking part. Details for our 2013 walk will be available towards the end of the year and we would hope for an even bigger participation level. In addition to this we will also be taking part again in the Cork Ladies Mini Marathon in September and anybody who is interested in doing this on behalf of the Group please let us know (email fundraisingbts@gmail.com).
Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary group that works to help create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources. We are an entirely voluntary Community Group and without the support of the Community we could not do the work that we do. For information on upcoming courses with Breaking The Silence please email breakingthesilencobh@gmail.com and to keep up to date with group activities you can find us on facebook by searching for ‘Breaking The Silence Cobh’.
