Springfield Ramblers Academy Polish Day

srtest600x400On Saturday 21st of March Springfield Ramblers Academy held a very successful PolskaÉire-Polish Irish Day in association with the Football Association of Ireland. The PolskaÉire Festival Week is designed to have a wide range of football, arts, cultural and other events planned to achieve the following objectives:

– Recognises the Polish contribution to Ireland.
– Brings Irish, Polish (and other) people together with a family orientation to events.
– Have some long term legacy value at a community level beyond the Festival Week (e.g. more people aware of clubs opportunities locally & greater interaction between clubs and the Polish community).

The day was held in perfect weather condition. Kids from 5 – 10 years old played in 4 v 4/5 v 5 SSG’s . Also the U8’s played at half time in the Cobh Ramblers v Wexford Youths game in St. Coleman’s Park. The Academy has on average 150 kids every Saturday morning. Over-all in the Club there is approximately 12 Polish Kids participating at various age groups. Springfield Ramblers are committed to involving/promoting and encouraging all Intercultural Communities both player and coaches in all aspects of the club.
