This was a super match from start to finish with two teams from opposite ends of the table. Springfield Ramblers went into an early lead after a great through ball from Gavin Lynch was finished off by the lightning fast Aaron Twomey. Corinthians hit back shortly before half time after some indecision in the Cobh defence.
Springfield Ramblers took the lead early in the second half after Aaron Twomey was felled by the goalkeeper and Gavin Lynch slotted home from the spot. Both sides worked hard with some great football on display. Eoin Downing in goal for Springfield Ramblers made a number of great saves throughout the whole match and we held out until the last ten minutes when we conceded two goals in quick succession. Ian Murphy had a great match in midfield and with Aaron Twomey, Glen Kavanagh and Gavin Lynch working tirelessly Springfield Ramblers were very unlucky not to come away with something out of the match in the end.

An excellent team performance saw Springfield Ramblers put in a great effort but were undone by a poor refereeing decision to award the home team a very harsh penalty. With James Stoat and Daniel Barry playing well in midfield an excellent through ball by Stoat put John Kennedy clear but he was unlucky not to score. Others to perform well were Gary Stack, Dean Keating, Stephen Horgan and Shane Marshall. A special word for Adam Devlin who gave an excellent display deputising in goal.
