Tim Fannin’s Man of the Match display inspired Springfield Ramblers to a 4-0 victory in the Cork Cup. With the visitors starting the better the home team were lucky not to go a goal behind within 10 mins. Springfield Ramblers then started to get on top with Tim Fannin’s overlapping runs causing the visitors numerous problems.
Springfield Ramblers went ahead when Daniel Barry fed James Stoat who beat one player before scoring from 20 yards with a well-placed shot. Springfield Ramblers playing the better football dominated the remainder of the first half and went 2 up when Michael Meaney converted a pass from James Stoat.
Springfield Ramblers continued to play the better football in the second half and went 3 up when Shane Marshall skilfully side stepped the visiting centre half to slot the ball into the far corner of the net. The home team were unlucky not to add to their tally when John Kennedy went close on 2 separate occasions. A fourth goal was crafted by excellent wing play by Daniel Barry who easily beat the full back and set up Michael Meaney for his second goal of the game.
Team: Cathal O Hanlon; Dean Keating; Stephen Horgan; Sean McLoughlin ; Tim Fannin; Shane Marshall; Adam Devlin; James Stoat; Daniel Barry ; Jamie McCarthy ; Michael Meaney Subs Used : John Kennedy; Garry Stack; Thomas Stafford; Jamie Britton.
