Umbro 11 Premier
Carrigaline United 3-0 Springfield Ramblers
Excellent second half performance with top class displays by Danny, Adam L, Colin and man of the match Cormac.
Umbro 13 Division 1
Castleview 0-5 Springfield Ramblers
There’s a phrase that you could be waiting a while for a bus to come along and then two come at the same time. We have been waiting for a performance from the lads that reflects their true ability and we now have had two of them in the last two matches. Excellent display of total football by all of the lads from start to finish, beating the team currently in second place by some score. Magnificent goals by Howard Murphy x2, Tom Ring, David Tayore and the flying captain Ben Kelleher. Man of the match performance – Howard Murphy, closely followed by the rest of the team! Great day to be a coach š
U14 National Cup
Springfield Ramblers 2-1 Malahide United
A fantastic result again with a brilliant team performance. The first half was pretty even with Springfield Ramblers playing against a strong wind. The wind played a major part in Malahide’s goal after 20 minutes. A clash ball on the half way line was caught by the wind and shot in over the keepers head. 5 minutes later our keeper Jamie Bates kept us in it with a fantastic save.
After the break Springfield Ramblers upped the tempo and dominated the second half. We came close to scoring after 5 and 10 of the 2nd half. The equalizer finally came after 15 minutes from the head of Lois Whelan. The 2nd goal came in the 22 minute after a fantastic passing move finished brilliantly by Nathan O’ Connell. A great team performance but best on the day were Nathan O’Connell, Jamie Bates and Morgan Dillon Hilton.
