Fermoy 2-1 Springfield Ramblers
Springfield started the game at a high tempo and took it to Fermoy. They could have been two up after 15 minutes but totally against the run of play found themselves two down. They got one back from Brian Danaj before half time. They kept up the pressure all through the second half but could not get the equaliser they deserved. Jamie Kelly in midfield gave a really fantastic display throughout the whole game. Great credit should be given to the lads for battling throughout the game but it wasn’t their day.

U12 Albert Conboye Cup
Fermoy 8-0 Springfield Ramblers A
Refusing to let the wet and windy weather dampen our spirits – Springfield Rambler U12b’s travelled to Fermoy in the Quarterfinal of the cup.
With the majority of the squad somehow cup tied; the available 11 set sail from Supervalu for the 30min fun filled journey.

In the 3rd minute Goalkeeper Alex ‘Capn’ Kirk, unhampered by his armbands, stretched to punch clear a dangerous cross into the box, it was looking like a busy day ahead.

With Darragh ‘Ozil’ O’Regan, Sean ‘The real deal’ Devlin, Jake ‘Suarez’ Sawani, Patrick ‘Pepe’ Roche providing the defensive line, the Fermoy strikers were becoming increasingly frustrated.

Fuelling our attacks from midfield were Dion ‘Di Maria’ Griffin, Conor ‘Khedira’ Kidney, Paul ‘Messi’ Murphy, Cian ‘Janauzi’ Tobin and Josh Griffin’iesta’ – with Sultan ‘Aguero’ Adebayo up front, unleashing the firepower at any available opportunity. Our gallant band of pirates continued to create and frustrate until the 21st minute, when Fermoy scored with a rather fortunate goal, the sharks were now circling and two more followed in quick succession, the umbrella wave to signal halftime was a welcome one. The second half was difficult – legs were aching, conditions were poor, but great credit needs to be given to the lads from Cobh; their never say die attitude ensured they fought on right to the final umbrella. There were some excellent battling performances today and the Sorrento’s sponsored man of the match went to the tough tackling captain, Sean ‘ The Real Deal’ Devlin who gave the Fermoy lads a torrid time.
So, a hard day at the office for the young Rams; however with the character & attitude these lads show, they will soon be back to winning ways….
