srtest3Umbro 11 Division 1
Buttevant (2) v Springfield Ramblers(2)
This was a game to be viewed more as a point gained rather than two points lost in very poor conditions.  Springers started well and were well in control.  After 15 minutes Jake Ryan scored after the ball came to him after a great run by Peter Mylnkova.  We remained well in control but unfortunately 5 minutes before halftime we failed to clear our box and after some ping pong they got a break and a goal. 20 minutes in the second half with Buttevant proving very tough opponents they scored a second from a break.  Springers showed great heart and determination and battled for the next five minutes not letting their heads drop and a break from their box and a good through ball pass from Alex Lynch set Harry Ellis off for a thundering shot which their keeper despite getting a hand to it could not keep out.   A great battle, the score probably a fair result. All players a credit to their team and club.   MOTM Rory Pierce.

Umbro 11 Division 3
Springfield Ramblers A (0) v Strand United,(3)
The bad weather and a stronger Strand United side got the best of the lads last Saturday who were on top from the start.  The lads did well to fight back when they went 1 down but couldn’t find the back of the net.  They did well to keep the score to 1-0 for as long as they could but Strand United got their second goal in the second half.  The boys showed a lot of spirit to keep fighting until the end but Strand got their third goal near the close to tie the game up.  Man of the match went to Alex Kirk.

Roy Keane 13 Premier
Springfield Ramblers (2) v Wilton United (0)
A good solid performance from the lads. Goals scored by Eoin Kelly & Mikey Foley.  Best on day were Morgan Dillion Hilton, Mikey Foley & Nathan O Connell.

U15 National Cup
Rockmount (5) v Cobh Ramblers (0)
The score line doesn’t do the lads justice who held their opponents who are 4 divisions ahead of them scoreless until midway through the second half. The lads should be proud of their effort and if they believed in their own ability just a little bit more it could have been a different match.

Umbro 13 Division 5
Riverstown A (3) v Springfield Ramblers B (7)
After some tough cup games it was back to the league and an away fixture to Riverstown. The game started evenly with both sides having some half chances and after a mix up in the Springfield defence Riverstown took the lead with a fine finish.  Springfield came out strongly from the restart and levelled the game and then scored two more quick goals to take a 3-1 lead.  Riverstown came back again and scored a long range goal but man of the match Evan O’ Leary scored his fourth goal of the game to end the half 4-2 to Springfield.  The second half started well with Brad Stapleton making it 5-2.  Springfield kept their shape and after learning from recent mistakes played the game out for a comfortable win.  Marc Jones and Shane Kelsall held the defence together well while Cian Doherty was excellent in midfield. Thanks to all the parents and family who gave great support throughout.
