STEP Course participants at Cobh’s YMCA who completed SAFE TALK training with Breaking The Silence in early August 2011
Breaking The Silence delivered a three hour Safe Talk Workshop at Cobh YMCA in early August, to young people on the STEP course. Also attending the event were members of the staff team, volunteers, members of the advisory board and members of the public, in keeping with BTS’s aim of creating Suicide Safer communities. Feedback from participants was very positive and some will continue on to the ASIST course, a 2 day training programme on 7th and 8th September.
Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary Group that helps to create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources. The Group will run their next free Safe Talk in Cobh on 25th August and for details please email breakingthesilencecobh@gmail.com.
