STEP Course Recruiting – Training course for 17-25 year olds

The YMCA’s STEP training course is now recruiting for the July 2011 intake. STEP (the Support Training and Enterprise Programme  – see www.ymca-cobh.org ) is a training course in Cobh YMCA.  21 weeks training will include the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence), FETAC modules in Communications, Work Experience and Text Production (all at level 5) and other projects in personal development, health promotion, global youth work and recreation. It is free to any eligible person (aged 17-25, out of work or with no leaving certificate) and training allowances are payable.

Course coordinator James Bilson said’ “Given the level of interest in the course to date, it seems likely that we will be heavily oversubscribed again, so anyone who is interested should get their application forms in as soon as they can.” The current course that finishes later this month and trainees are preparing to enter further education or part time work over the summer

If you want more information or wish to apply for the course please complete and return an application form (available from our offices at 8 West Beach or via the website  www.ymca-cobh.org The course is due to commence on 25th July and interviews will be held during July, so please contact us as soon as possible to register your interest. Places are limited and interviews will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
