Tidy Towns News
Nine Tidy Towns volunteers were out this Saturday helping the Tidy Towns committee to make Cobh a nicer place to visit, live in and work in.
Twenty bags of litter was collected from the strand at Carrigaloe. The bushes overhanging the footpath and beautiful stone wall on Spy Hill near Hartnett’s Garage were a very unsightly feature at the entrance to the town. These were cut back and twenty two bags of bottles and cans were collected here.
The top of Park Road and Ahern’s Place was also cleaned. An attempt was also made to remove the dog fouling on a large section of the Five Foot Way. Rushbrooke Links Residents’ Association were also out this Saturday cleaning their local area. Cobh Tidy Towns committee meet every Saturday at the Five Foot Way at 10 am sharp and then travel to various areas.
