Titanic Centenary – Titanic Experience Information/Artefacts Appeal

Published

on

Great interest is being shown into the Loss of Titanic one hundred years ago, particularly with regard to the loss of seventy nine of the one hundred and twenty three passengers that boarded in Queenstown on the 11th April 1912. Titanic foundered in the North Atlantic on 15 April with the loss of over 1500 lives. Cobh’s newly established Titanic Experience is based in the Original White Star Building in Cobh (formerly Queenstown) and is a new permanent visitor experience in the actual  building from where the 123 passengers boarded the Liner Tenders to join Titanic at anchor in Cork Harbour.

We make an appeal to relatives, friends, neighbours and Local Historians for information about these passengers and indeed crew members. COPIES or ORIGINALS of Family histories, memories, stories, photographs or artefacts of those that boarded in Queenstown would go on display to the public who are visiting us in ever increasing numbers and who are very anxious to hear what is to be known of the lost passengers, the survivors and Crew members from here.

All responses will be gratefully acknowledged sensitively taken in care and made available with your consent for historic research and analysis now and in the future.
