Titanic Experience Cobh Announces Children’s Art Competition Winners

Monday, 15 April 2013: The Titanic Experience, Cobh’s permanent visitor attraction, today announced details of the winners and runners? up of the Project Titanic Art competition. Children aged between four and twelve years old were invited to sketch, paint or create a piece of art that represents ‘Titanic and her connection to Cobh’, which was the theme of this year?s competition. There were 3 categories of entries which ranged from 4 to 6 years, 7 to 10 years and 10 to 12 years old.
Philip Gray, renowned artist and a judge of the art competition along with fellow judge Lord Mayor, Cllr, Sinead Sheppard, were on hand to announce the winners and runners up of the Titanic art competition.
Managing Director of the Titanic Experience Cobh, Gillen Joyce said ‘We were delighted to see so many entries for this year’s competition and we were extremely impressed by the level of creativeness among entrants in expressing their understanding of Titanic and its connections to Cobh. The art will be on display in Tregan Craft Centre and we hope to produce a limited edition series of the winning entries such was the calibre.’

Titanic Experience ( Goody bags including chocolate, eraser, topper, pen and ruler, as well as Family ticket into Titanic Experience for the Merit winners)
Fota Island Resort ( Teachers Prize) Overnight bed and breakfast for 2 people) Winner is Ms. Spriggs of Rushbrooke NS Cobh.
Titanic Trail provided Walking Tour of Cobh for all winners by Michael Martin.
