The Commodore Hotel are honouring one of Cobh’s natural treasures, Jack Doyle by hosting a weekend of centenary events which will begin with a Boxing Tournament on Friday August 30.
With this in mind the Jack Doyle Gathering committee would like to invite local sports clubs for volunteering to box for this special event. This boxing tournament will be run by the Cork County Board with ten bouts which will be competitive and two fun bouts in which local sproting groups or clubs can participate. This is just one event which will take place over the centenary weekend. On Saturday August 31 a ‘Gorgeous Gael Gala Dinner’ will take place with Special Guest Speaker Michael Taub, Author of the Jack Doyle Book. Finally to round up the weekend on Sunday August 1 a day of commemoration will take place in Cobh, Jack Doyle’s home town which will include choirs, markets and live bands.
