Calling all Mums, Dads, Grannies, Granddads, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Cousins and family pets…………! Breaking The Silence will host a 4K Family Fun walk in the beautiful town of Cobh on Sunday 8th September starting at 1pm in the town. All of the community are very welcome to take part and participants do not need to fundraise for this walk, as to take part you just need to pay a registration fee as follows:
€10 for an adult (over 18’s)
€20 a family (2 adults & 2 children)
€5 per extra child
You can register for the Family Fun Walk by logging onto our website www.breakingthesilence.ie and you do not need a paypal account to register. If you do not have online access you can register with one of the group’s committee members. Children taking part in the walk are invited to take part in the colouring competition and you will be emailed all the details after you register. After the walk takes place we will be treated to live music in the promenade from the very talented local musician Katie McGroarty and treats for the children such as a bouncy castle and face painting.
Each year World Suicide Prevention Day takes place on 10th September and it is our hope that our community in Cobh will support the Family Fun Walk on 8th September as we join together to raise awareness of Suicide Prevention and raise funds to continue to provide free training in these skills.
Finally Breaking The Silence would like to say a very big thank you to Mick Bardsley of Cobh Edition who very generously designed and built our new website www.breakingthesilence.ie which will be a key resource going forward to inform the public of upcoming training courses and events.
