Next Saturday March 12th is a very important day in the current Schoolboys Football Season for the Springfield Ramblers Club as two of our teams are taking part in the Last 16 stage of the National Cup Competitions. Our Under 12 side have a home tie against St Brendan’s Park of Tralee at 1pm while our senior side the Under 16 team take on Killarney Celtic at 3pm. Both sides have performed admirably in the games prior to this round with both teams securing wins in very difficult away ties in the last round, the Under 12s at Salthill Devon in Galway and the Under 16s at Clonmel Town.
The Under 12 side under coaches Steve Quinlan and Eoin O’Sullivan are in a commanding position near the top of the U12 Premier League table while the Under 16s under the stewardship of Niall Abbott, Mossie O’Mahony and Frank Collins are also challenging for Premier League honours. The Club wishes the very best of luck to both sides in these very important games and we would be very pleased if Cobh football supporters and the general public would come out and offer their support to the boys on Saturday afternoon.
