Opening Thursday 7th April 2011 at 7pm
Special guest speaker Peter Murray / Director Crawford Art Gallery, Cork
Exhibition runs until Sunday 8th May 2011
This exhibition includes works of drawing, painting and mixed media, developed over the past five years, ‘The Blue Snake in the Shape of Infinity’ is informed by Suzy O’Mullane’s previous work ‘The Colour of Love’ on the theme of love and loss. This exhibition reflects an emotional response to the artists personal life, and includes themes of sorrow, empathy, connection, guardianship and remembrance, while pushing the boundaries of traditional representation to experiment with subject matter and scale. The exhibited works provide the possibility of an insight into the world of one of Cork’s most imaginative figurative artists. Based in Cork Suzy O’Mullane is a graduate of UCC and the Crawford College of Art, she works in both Cork and Paris.
