The Cobh & Harbour Chamber’s Summer Swing Fundraising Draw took place on Friday 15th July in the Commodore Hotel, Cobh. Congratulations to Yvonne O’Donovan who was the lucky winner of the first prize of lunch for six on board a luxury liner, sponsored by Port of Cork. Second prize went to Con Fitzpatrick who will enjoy a scenic flight tour for four persons kindly donated by Harbour Flights Ireland.
Local Peace Commissioner John Hennessy was on hand to pull the winning tickets. Both Michael McCarthy representing the Port of Cork and Adam Cronin of Harbour flights Ireland were in attendance and spoke of their pleasure in supporting this event. Michael McCarthy thanked the Chamber and tourist office staff for the trojan work which they do on a daily basis in support of the liner traffic and in promotion of Cobh and the Great Island. He stated that although the Port can bring the liners to the town it is the welcome and the friendliness of the town which keeps them returning on an annual basis. The money raised goes towards the free Summer Swing entertainment which takes place throughout the summer in the local promenade
