Cobh Men’s Shed received vouchers donated by the WatersEdge Hotel, Cobh on Thursday for their hard work and dedication in completing the St. Colmans wing of the Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre. The voucher was presented to Malcolm Smith, representing Man Shed, Cobh by Jim Langford, Facilities Manager in the centre.
“The lads were very deserving of recognition as they worked above and beyond to get it all completed.” said Jim. “They would finish a day’s work and be back in the centre later that night. We are all very grateful here in the centre for their contribution to the new wing which will officially be opened in the near future.” continued Jim.
“The ‘mens Shed’ Organisation is one of Ireland’s fastest growing organisations and is an updated version of the shed in the backyard”, said Malcolm, “the Cobh branch meets every Tuesday and Thursday and our Headquarters are in Mount Crozier Tennis Courts. Our main aim is to provide a meeting place where men can meet socially, have a cup of tea and a chat. We also like to take on community based projects such as this one and we have a great craic at the same time.”
