The people of Cobh are being encouraged to attend the upcoming COBH Great Island Tidy Districts Awards ceremony taking place at the Cobh Heritage Centre from 7.30pm on Thursday 19th September.
Seeking to acknowledge the tremendous efforts made by Resident Associations, individuals and businesses who strive to make Cobh a beautiful place, the competition is sponsored by Cobh Credit Union
”The awards ceremony is a celebration of the efforts of Cobh as a community striving to be recognised nationally as one of Ireland´s tidiest towns. Together, whether we receive an award or not, we can celebrate what has been achieved by us all in the past few years.” said Chairperson of Cobh Tidy Towns, Hendrick Verwey
”The presentation and upkeep of virtually every area in Cobh is now of a high standard and representatives of Residents´ Associations and individuals that did not enter the competition are especially welcome to attend the awards ceremony. The presentation by the judge Terry O´Regan will be more concise than in previous years and will prove to be very enlightening and educational.” continued Mr. Verwey
Cobh Heritage Centre is noted for its convivial atmosphere and the refreshments served will make for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
