Diarmuid Gavin will be the guest speaker at the Cobh Pride of Place Awards ceremony 2016 to be held in the Commodore Hotel on Thursday 19th November at 8 pm. As Cobh celebrates winning a Gold medal in the National Tidy Towns competition, everyone is invited to attend and to bring a friend for what will be an interesting, enlightening and uplifting night out. Refreshments will be served. The Awards, sponsored by Cobh Credit Union are seeking to recognise the residential areas, streets and estates that contribute most to Cobh’s improvement in the National Tidy Towns competition. They were judged in late July by Terry O’Regan.
The shortlisted estates that made it to the final adjudication were:
*1 – 25 houses*
Dawn View, Dock Cottages, Brighton Tce., Mount Eaton, Bellevue, Merview, Roseneath, Pat O’Brien Close, Whitepoint by sea, Connolly Street, East Hill, 28 – 52 Russell Heights, O’Sullivans Place
*26 – 75 houses*
1 – 35 Willow Bank, College Lawn/Green, Coolamber, Victoria Estate, Whitepoint Moorings, Whitepoint Avenue, Assumption Place/Ringmeen Estate
*76+ houses *
Riverside, The Spires, Rushbrooke Links, Rushbrooke Manor
