Congratulations to Cobh Wanderers Senior side tonight on their 4-1 win away to Ringmahon Rangers. This win, plus an own goal by Midleton, a few minutes from the end, secured the play-off place. Earlier goals for Wanderers by Rob Waters (2) and Shane Geasley (2) made it all to easy at Ringmahon Park, but it wasn’t until the scoreline was being filtered through from Ringmahon Park that the lads knew it was in the bag.
Speaking to Wanderers Manager Eric McCarthy he told Cobh Edition: ‘We were magic tonight. The lads gave their all and it paid off. Yes, we needed the other games result to go our way and it did. We’ve worked hard now for two years and to see the delight in the dressing room tonight when we got the Midleton v Everton result, was priceless. We’ve now got to get the heads down and go for the play-offs’
Wanderers now face a three-team play-off composing of : Cobh Wanderers, Midleton and Everton.
Exciting times again this year…………
