The Quincy Choral Society is based in historic Quincy, Massachusetts home of two American Presidents – John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
Founded in 1981, QCS performs three annual concerts in the Boston area and has sung at Carnegie Hall in New York City as well as at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Under the direction of John Nichols, Music Director, and Gingy Grimes, Accompanist, the Quincy Choral Society has grown to over 90 members.
QCS has travelled internationally to Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Wales with performances in Chartres Cathedral, All Hallows by the Tower (London) at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and in St. Mark’s Cathedral (Venice). The Quincy Choral Society was the first American choir to be invited to perform at the “Singing World Festival” in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Many of our members have Irish roots and we are thrilled and honored to be in the land of our ancestors so that we may strengthen our bonds through music. QCS singers come from all walks of life bringing musical excellence to Quincy and the World. Our members sing with music in their hearts, performing diverse professional quality programs designed to entertain, enlighten and enrich the human spirit.
