The annual Cork IHF awards continue to go from strength to strength as they recognise and reward hard-working people whilst also highlighting the diversity of the people that work within the industry and the many talents that contribute to the continued vibrancy of the hotel sector in Cork.
The Cork Branch of the Irish Hotel Federation (IHF) were therefore delighted to attend a congratulatory reception hosted by Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Mick Finn which honoured their 2018 Employee of the Year, Sean Devine of the River Lee Hotel.
Sean exudes a professional, positive and friendly approach and although he had no hotel background when he joined the River Lee Hotel in 2016, he was quickly recognised by management as a future star as he moved through positions as a Hall Porter, Meetings & Events Associate, Front Office Team Member and finally reaching his current position as a Duty Manager.
Rachel Keohane of Jurys Inn Cork was awarded the Branch’s Outstanding Customer Service Award and she is a true ambassador for her employer and it is no surprise that she has won Jurys Inn employee of the year on two separate occasions.
Both Sean and Rachel go above and beyond what is expected of them in their roles and are truly customer focused and responsive to problems with a real can-do attitude and a passion and enthusiasm for their chosen career, congratulations to them both.
The Cork IHF Branch would like to thank the Lord Mayor for his support of the tourism industry throughout his term in office and particularly his promotion of Cork and appreciates his acknowledgement of the investment that properties have made in the city and county, they wish him well as he moves on from his mayoral role in the coming weeks.
