FRAGMENTS OF IRELAND
Photographs by
David J. Eisenlord
Opening Thursday 3 June at 7:00pm
Running until Sunday 4 July
Sirius Arts Centre presents “Fragments of Ireland” by American Photographer, David J. Eisenlord opening at the Sirius Arts Centre on Thursday 2 June at 7:00pm. “Fragments of Ireland” is a collection of photographs drawn from Eisenlord’s Artist in Residency at Sirius in 2009. The images include evocative landscapes from Cork County to Kerry to County Clare.
In early 2009 Minnesota resident David J Eisenlord spend 5 weeks as an artist in residence at Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh, County Cork. During his residency David worked with a turn of the century portrait lens and created his final prints using the antique process of gum bichromate over platinum printing. The resulting prints have a soft mysterious aesthetic which conjure up a feeling of the past meeting the present.
This exhibition has been made possible by a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant which was awarded to David Eisenlord earlier this year.
