Cork County Council, Cobh Municipal District has launched the Cobh Municipal District Streetscape, Painting, Signage, and Improvement Scheme 2022. Applications are invited from tenants or owners of buildings in the town of Cobh who may qualify for financial assistance under the scheme to assist in improving the overall appearance of buildings.
There is a grant of up to 50% for individual buildings. A contribution to a maximum of 75% will be paid towards the cost of materials where it is proposed the tenant / owner will undertake the works themselves. Grant eligibility includes painting, flower baskets, shop front signage etc.
Launching the scheme, Cllr. Cathal Rasmussen, Cathaoirleach of Cobh Municipal District, stated that priority will be given in respect of applications for the painting of buildings which are either considered to be derelict, or which are vacant, and which are being restored for use; and to applications for the installation of traditional style shop front signage.
Application forms and further information on the scheme are available from Cork County Council Offices in Carrig House, Cobh, Co. Cork. Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 22 July 2022
