Karin Milisavljevic has completed a number of walks in the last three years to raise money for the Sunshine Homes to help build Ireland’s first Childrens Hospice. Karen, a German national who has lived in Ireland for twelve years, the first five of those here in Cobh, currently lives in Clonikilty and works in a nursing home there. In 2008 she walked from Clonakilty to Spain via Germany and France. She walked the 2500km alone and managed to raise €5000. In 2009, with the sponsorship of the Lions Club, she completed another walk from Clonakily to Malin Head (650km) which took her three weeks but this time raised in excess of €14,000.
On September 11th of this year she departed from the Sunshine Home in Foxrock and has been walking since, passing through Youghal and Midleton yesterday. She will depart Midleton on Wednesday 22nd Sept at 8.30am, through Carrgtwohill and arriving in Cobh sometime between 2.00 – 3.00pm
