This time around the games will take place in Athen late June of 2011, and our Special Olympic have been in active training for months and happy to report that all are doing excellent. The volunteers will have their first meeting on Saturday 22nd January at the Silver Springs Hotel, and this meeting is used to let all volunteers to get to know each other and raise awarness about the necessary fundraising required for the athletes.
Cobhman Frank O’Brien is one of those volunteers attending the meeting, knowing that he himself will be tasked with raising €3,250 to support the athletes. Frank, who is Cobh’s only volunteer, would appreciate the support and goodwill of the Cobh people when it comes to raising the funds.
The Special Olympic account numbers are as follows: Sort Code: 90-14-90 and Account Number: 5451183
More information can be obtained by calling Frank O’Brien on 087-7753-159
