Cork’s first fashion showcase of 2012, “A Pink Ribbon Affair” hits the catwalk at the stunning Fota Island Resort on Saturday January 21st next at 7.30pm. Showcasing the best new up and coming Cork designers, the event is not only glamourous, but a charitable one.

Supporting Action Breast Cancer, “A Pink Ribbon Affair”, will be a mixture of fashion, music and dance, with proceeds of the event going towards the worthy cause.

With Devine Boutique, Elsa and Gogo and Samantha Kennedy Fashion, Heidi Higgins as well as Fiona Mangan Millinery already committed to the event, the night is perfectly timed to give a sneak peak of Spring/Summer 2012 collections.

“We wanted to start 2012 on a very positive note”, says David Kelleher of Pulse Models. “Not only by showing our support for the tremendous work of the Irish Cancer Society, but using the event as a platform to showcase the very best of up and coming Irish fashion and design”.

Chairperson of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers, Eddie Shanahan will direct and compere the stylish evening. He is synonymous with the Irish fashion industry having extensive high end retail expertise, he established his own model agency and also working closely with upcoming designers on new product development, branding and creative direction.

“We cannot believe that we’ve secured Eddie Shanahan for this event”, says David “It is an unbelievable opportunity for all those showing at the night, who knows where this could take them if their designs catch his trained eye”.

“As we’ve been working to establish Pulse Models on the Cork fashion scene, along the way we have come across others doing the same in the clothing, accessory and hat designing fields also trying to get their foot on the ladder. Together, we can help raise the profile of some very talented Corkonians and help a worthy charity at the same time”, David points out.

Rose O’Dea, Irish Cancer Society Community Fundraiser for the Munster area agrees. “We understand that people are more strapped for cash but we can’t understate the importance of funding for services such as ours. We do not receive any government funding, so nights such as the Pink Ribbon Affair provide much needed finance to keep the Irish Cancer Society going and we would love to see as many people as possible supporting the event”.

Music by DJ Billy McGaley and UV5 after the fashion show will ensure the party atmosphere doesn’t end ‘til late.

Tickets for the night of fashion, fun and music are €20 and available directly from Fota Island Resort, Pulse Models at 086 339 3544, or The Tanning and Beauty Centre, Blackpool. The event gets underway at 7.30pm.
