Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary that helps to create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources. Having trained 90 students from Cork Institute of Technology in Suicide Awareness & Intervention Training last year the Group has just delivered Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training to 20 additional CIT students. Feedback from the students from this two day free programme has been extremely positive and these students feel that they are now more Suicide Aware and better equipped to deal with a potential situation involving Suicide.
