Christmas in Cobh
Christmas in Cobh begins on Saturday 26th November with an afternoon of Christmas Cheer followed by the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights.
From 3 pm Santa will greet children in the lobby of the Commodore Hotel, have a short chat with them and pose for photographs. He may even have little surprises for the children too!
Free Face Painting will also be available in the Commodore Hotel.
From 3 pm there will be an array of Christmas music on the bandstand in The Promenade and at 4.15 pm complimentary Hot Chocolate will be available for children from Truly Scrumptious with the compliments of the Cobh Branch of AIB Bank.
The children’s torch lit procession has become a huge favourite. This year the parade, led by Cobh Animation Team will leave from the playground in The Promenade at 5 pm and will travel along the waterfront to the Christmas tree where the lights will be switched on by one lucky child. This child will be the winner of an art competition organised by Cobh and Harbour Chamber and See You in Cobh.
The whole afternoon’s activities are a coming together of community and businesses to show Cobh at its best. The Christmas Lights are erected by Cobh and Harbour Chamber with support from the Cobh Municipal District. This is the 9th year that See You in Cobh are organising a Christmas in Cobh Event to coincide with the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights.
Please come along and be a part of this fantastic festive Community event in the centre of Cobh.
